Join ambassador McKenzie, Madeline and Erin from Uncharted Outdoorswomen for a Fly Fishing clinic! Learn the basics, as well as practicing the skills needed to fish aside registered professionals! All required gear is included, as well as instruction, a provided finger foods lunch & time to fish.

About the event

Join Women of Colorado ambassadors McKenzie, Madeline and professional women fly fishing guides for a day of instruction including gear, lunch & time to fish. Please note this event may be weather permitting at the discretion of Uncharted Outdoors women guides. If weather is so bad we need to cancel we will refund you in full minus $10 to cover processing fees. Fees for fly fishing licenses and entry to the park are not included in the ticket. The event format is as follows:

Itinerary

9:30am – Meet & Greet

10am – Team Introduction

10:30 – Stations (20 minutes at each station)

12:00 – Lunch and mingle

1pm – Fish Lake

  1. Size Me Up!

    2. Fly Line, leader, tippet sizes

        

  2. Knots                              
    1. Clinch Knot
    2. Surgeons Knot
    3. Loop Knot
    4. Non-Slip Loop (If there is time.)

        

  3. Rig Up!                              
    1. Dry Dropper
    2. Nymph Rig
    3. Streamer

        

  4. Casting On Water                              
    1. Casting Basics
    2. Single Haul Casting
    3. Roll Casting

        

Fish a stream and a lake (1-3pm)

- What flies do you use on a lake

You'll learn a ton about fishing without having to spend money on the gear before you've given it all a shot. Please feel free to bring your own gear too if you would like to use it.

Please keep in mind ALL guests need a  Colorado State fishing license to participate. You may purchase a license at Colorado Parks & WIldlife, they typically have a daily option as well as an annual option if you plan to fish more after learning! Uncharted Outdoorswomen will require guests to sign a waiver.

Women of Colorado ambassadors are not first aid certified. Registering for this event is acknowledgement of the risks in participating in a fly fishing event including, but not limited to being near water, using sharp tools, etc. and signing up for this event waives participants' right to file suit against Women of Colorado for any occurance during or related to the event including for reasons of participant negligance. If you have COVID or have been exposed, please contact us and do not attend.
